Aberystwyth is the cultural capital of Wales, a vibrant, cosmopolitan University town – ‘a natural crucible of colliding worlds’. The wide promenade, fronted by tall, elegant, Victorian and Edwardian buildings protects the town from the ravages of the Irish Sea and offers space to stroll, sit and soak up the sun. There is an excellent theatre, galleries and numerous restaurants cafes, pubs and shops in Aberystwyth, it’s an ideal base for exploring the area.
Aberystwyth is also home to the National Library of Wales and many of our guests come to Aberystwyth to use its research facilities.

Every local town and coastal village in Cardigan Bay has its own unique charm and character, none more than Aberaeron, which lies on the coast between Aberystwyth and New Quay is renown for its colourful Georgian style houses and graceful architecture.
